Only The Super Rich Can Save Us
What brings us here is a common foreboding - a closing circle of global doom. The world is not doing well. With our capitalist backgrounds, it's easy for us not to be beguiled by the plutocracy's self-serving manipulation of economic indicators. We know how wealth is being accumulated, defined, concentrated, and stratified. Why, four hundred and fifty of us have wealth equivalent to the combined wealth of the bottom three billion impoverished people on Earth. We know of the portentous and manifold risks we face, both now and in the future. The global environment is fragile, under severe assault, and it's vulnerable to genetic engineering for short-term profit. Viruses and bacteria are subjected to increasing stress that yields deadly mutations, and weapons of all kinds are more widely and easily available than ever.
