Virgin Bitcoin

Traceability The Bitcoin blockchain serves as a decentralized ledger that allows anyone to follow the transaction history of a particular token with the touch of a button. For example, each Bitcoin carries with it a cryptographically provable history that contains a detailed record of ownership and transaction data associated with the token. Simply put, if a particular Bitcoin has been used to process even a single illegal activity in the past, all of its subsequent transactions will be tainted. This, according to Dave Jevans (CEO of CipherTrace), is one of the main reasons why certain cyber-savvy criminals go to such great lengths to launder their cryptocurrencies before putting them to use.  #VirginBitcoin Full artcile: https://cointelegraph.com/news/virgin-bitcoin-most-in-demand-crypto-that-is-regulated-differently

Professor Muhammad Yunus at Sunway University 17th August 2018

图片
When we want to help the poor, we usually offer them charity. Most often we use charity to avoid recognizing the problem and finding the solution for it. Charity becomes a way to shrug off our responsibility. But charity is no solution to poverty. Charity only perpetuates poverty by taking the initiative away from the poor. Charity allows us to go ahead with our own lives without worrying about the lives of the poor. Charity appeases our consciences. I believe that we can create a poverty-free world because poverty is not created by poor people. It has been created and sustained by the economic and social systems that we have designed for ourselves; the institutions and concepts that make up that system; the policies that we pursue. #WealthConcentration You change the system and people get out from poverty.  It is the ability to control capital that gives people the power to rise out of poverty.  ~ Muhammad Yunus, Banker to the Poor: Micro-Lending and the Battle ...

How Raytheon software tracks you online - video ... http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/video/2013/feb/10/raytheon-software-tracks-online-video A study shows that what you ‘like’ on Facebookcan predict, with remarkable accuracy, everything from your race to your sexual orientation, political affiliation and personality type... http://news.yahoo.com/facebook-likes-may-more-revealing-think-110057414.html

Youtube :

When Tony asked me to join, I said: “Tony, I don't know anything about telecom.” His response, “That's ok. I didn't know anything about airplanes.” Source: http://biz.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?sec=business&file=/2011/7/30/business/9187655) 3.

A few info related to Korean entertainment industry and the use of Apps: http://kpopn.com/2012/05/18/123423/ First Day of Super Junior’s ‘Super Show 4′ Concert at Tokyo Dome draws in 50,000 fans On May 12th, 50,000 ELF‘s witnessed the first of Super Junior‘s two day ‘Super Show 4‘ performances at the prestigious Tokyo Dome. A Look Into The (iPhone) Apps World

图片
Bottom line: investments in Apple's ecosystem are paying off. In June, 2010 Apple said it paid developers $1 billion for applications. In October, 2011 at the iPhone 4S launch, Apple stated it had sold 250 million iOS devices and that the App Store had seen a total of 18 billion downloads, paying out over $3 billion to developers. In January, 2012, Apple is pushing its cumulative payouts to developers above $4 billion. You can check out detailed milestones and chart showing downloads and available apps on the app store over time, since the App Store was opened in 2008 at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/App_Store_(iOS) Simple applications such as Little Buddha, iFart, Popcorn Maker can make your apps virally known worldwide, with huge potential making good passive income, where your investment pay offs. For example, the developer of iFart, Joel Comm, has been pretty forthcoming with sales figures, and on his blog he noted that over Christmas Eve and Christmas day, mo...

The March of Technology

图片
This is the follow up info on the case of Kodak , The Case of RIM (Black Berry), IBM and General Electric . The point of these case studies is about the march of technology , and how important it is to be able to adapt with the times. Kodak and The March of Technology For the case of Kodak, although it's sad to see an industry pioneer bite the dust, competition is brutal - better companies have emerged with better products and services at lower prices - it was digital technology that destroyed Kodak's market share . Ironically, it was Kodak that invented the digital camera nearly 40 years ago, yet it could not keep in step. The fear of self-cannibalisation allowed newcomers to come in and eat their lunch, and by the time it realised it had to play the digital game, it was too late to catch up. However, its Japanese competitor, Fujifilm - also an old company - which aggressively rode the digital wave has got a market capitalisation of US$12.6 billion today. So the l...

The Real Threat of Cyber Terrorism

图片
Identity theft — mainly, fraudulent spending — has affected hundreds of millions of people, causing hundreds of billions in losses worldwide in the past decade. Today, though, your credit card number isn't the only target of hackers' keystrokes... What Do You Do Online? I bank with an online interest-bearing checking account. I use it to make utility, car, cable, and phone payments. It also contains my entire banking and ATM transaction history. I pay my mortgage through a separate online account. I have a brokerage account. I manage my insurance and health savings account (HSA). I have an individual retirement account (IRA). I have a credit card account. And of course, I have an email account, which doesn't forget anything and is a catch-all for correspondence from any person or business I interact with: orders, confirmation numbers, pictures, usernames, etc. The very fabric of my life — and yours, I'm sure — is sewn together with digital thread. It's...

Of Tech, Riots, and Privacy

图片
Social networking devices seem to play a significant role in facilitating an easy way for strangers to come together for the purpose of organizing a protest. As so many protests around the world have been transformed into more aggressive outbreaks of violence and rioting, several questions and concerns now revolve around these modern social networking vehicles. Mob Robs During Riots There's a hot new trend in civil unrest, called Mob Robs, when a mob of people swarm into a store and take everything in sight. The store workers become completely overwhelmed and can do nothing to stop it. A typical Mob Rob: These mob robs sound frightening similar to the food riots happening around the world. And the really disturbing part is that they're happening more and more frequently... Teenage 'flash mob' robberies on the rise in the U.S. The Herald June 19, 2011 — The same technologies that for years have brought together the mostly benign and goofy "flash mob...

iPad 2, Galaxy Tab 2, HTC Flyer

图片
While still wondering around for a new tech toy, considering among Apple's iPad 2, Samsung's Galaxy Tab 2, and HTC Flyer, I sent a mail to a kind friend asking for comment, and to my surprise, he returned with quite a professional point of view and thoughtful suggestions. I would like to dedicate this post to his kind attention and valuable time spent in reply. Besides, it's a solid proof to part of our previous discussion in a dinner that sometimes, you don't really have to crack your head for content. :) This is the content of the email I sent him: ------------------------------------------- Dear Richard, I saw this promotion by Maxis on HTC Flyer package, where they selling 2,499 with 24 months rebate and told the prospects at the end of 2 years the device cost only 159. Yet, I think it is tricky and not worth the money paid, as can get iPad2 at 1899 with data package 70 only, and HTC Flyer seems a bit bulky when compared to Galaxy Tab, even though both on 7...

Cyber Warriors and Hackers

Training internet experts to fight against hackers and data thieves is a priority for developed countries. Check out two related news: Training Future 'Cyberwarriors' Is School's Objective By Fabian Mueller February 18, 2011 9:35AM Whether it's administration, government bodies or the private economy, there are networks and systems everywhere that need to be protected, data secured and digital intruders stopped in their tracks. It seems appropriate that the cyber security course can also be completed exclusively online. http://business.newsfactor.com/story.xhtml?story_id=0030009MN97F Hackers hunting on smartphones Hackers showed a strong prediction for a kind of malicious code used to mine bank account data and, ultimately, get into people’s accounts, the computer security firm indicated. China, Thailand and Taiwan had the highest rates of infection, with nearly 70% of the computers in those countries “riddled with malware,” according to PanLabs. AFP-...
